Brahmin has been a favorite client to work with – and not just because they make a great handbag. The Brahmin project embodies what I like best about retail design – collaboration and creative solutions to meet the retailer’s goals.
My relationship with Brahmin began nearly five years ago, when I was tasked with designing their retail stores in Dallas and Atlanta. I worked closely with their Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Retail to make sure the Brahmin brand was reflected in their retail spaces. The stores are fresh and contemporary with a nod to the classic through traditional details and rich finishes.
As the brand expanded its sales scope, I was able to tackle new challenges for them such as creating Brahmin spaces within national department stores like Macy’s and Belk, with Dillard’s and Lord & Taylor rolling out this year. In the past 3 years 74 Brahmin shops have been installed, each with their own unique touch, but inspired by the aesthetic and design vocabulary I created in the Dallas and Atlanta stores.
